Background: Conservation
International's mission is to conserve the Earth's living natural
heritage, global diversity, and to demonstrate that human societies
are able to live harmoniously with nature. With the discovery
of an extremely threatened marine and terrestrial region named
the Eastern Tropical Pacific Seascape, Conservation International
hired mebDESIGN to develop an interactive CD-ROM to use as
a means of raising awareness on the region and to be used as
a fundraising tool.
|
Solution: Using
rich imagery, maps, and a six minute video, mebDESIGN designed
and built this CD-ROM to provide information on the biological
uniqueness of the Eastern Tropical Pacific Seascape region.
The CD-ROM was used as a handout and display at the World Park
Congress held in September 2003, a conference that convenes
every ten years in South Africa. Since the CD-ROM's development,
over 3 million dollars worth of funding has been raised for
this project.
