Background: The Membrane Protein Expression Center at UCSF (MPEC) develops and applies the latest innovative methods yielding structurally and functionally intact eukaryotic membrane proteins for drug development, and structural and functional characterization. A new center at UCSF, the MPEC was in need of a web site to inform the public about its services as well as offer a downloadable application for protein expression.
